THE BINGU INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION CENTRE (BICC)

The sweeping entrance to the Umodzi Park precinct with over 2500 secure parking bays, leads through the double volume and twin buildings which, together, comprise the Bingu Wa Mutharika International Convention Centre (the BICC).
The facilities include Lilongwe Auditorium, which seats 1800 delegates and is accessed by a large volume foyer, which can accommodate the same number of guests. Heron, Ibis, Pelican, Sparrowhawk and Sandpiper are the names given to the conference rooms, which can be combined or used individually to cater for up to 70 delegates, and are perfect for company meetings or plenary sessions.

Njobvu (Elephant), Mbidzi (Zebra) and Mvuu (Hippo) are the banqueting halls, and can also be used individually to house 200 delegates, or combined to cater to over 1000 guests. A further four multi-functional venues, dubbed Mphasa, Mbuna, Chambo, and Usipa, offer varying configurations, that cater for 15, in a boardroom set-up or for up to 60 in a cinema style set up.

There is also an exclusive VIP boardroom, lounge and holding room, Mafumu, meaning royalty, that have a separate entrance and a dedicated lift, which provides an unparalleled level of safety and security.

The Conference Centre also features the Mseko Bistro which will serve coffees and light meals, and both buildings of the BICC open out onto Malawi Square, a large paved outdoor exhibition and event area featuring the sun of the Malawi flag etched into the vast paved brickwork expanse.

Further up, flanking the square, is the Pabwalo Amphitheatre, another outdoor facility with superb acoustics, ideal for smaller concerts and theatrical events.
